This is a follow-up blog of the link mentioned in Part 2.

So we were back to the hotel room after the visa appointment and immediately started looking for places we can visit. Since it was already evening and most of the attractions nearby were supposed to be closed by 7 pm, we immediately decided to just go out and our first destination was The Science City.

We booked an uber and went for that place. The yellow taxis and the overcrowded buses everywhere gave the true Kolkata feel as we mostly observe on the big screens.

It was around 60 to 80 INR for entry into the science city for adults. Since it was already dark certain centres were closed but we definitely took the dinosaur age ride (sorry no photos captured at that point) and some other museums like the Earth Exploration Hall inside the complex.

I would for sure love to revisit the place in the daylight and experience every bit of the place. But this time we were really hungry and so decided to have lunch (at 5.30 pm) and then continue the rest of the journey.

We were late already so we took a ride to the Cathedral Road near the Victoria Memorial and decided to have a walk in the streets of Kolkata and have a local experience. To start off we had some nice street chai in the traditional clay pot and went to St. Paul’s Cathedral. Then walking through the Queen’s way we stopped by the Musical Fountain and then the Victoria Memorial. It was closed but the essence of the place could still be felt in the heavily guarded streets nearby.

Finally, after buying some marshmallows and candies from the nearby streets for my sister, we decided to head back to the hotel. It was already 10 pm.

One of my friends had a flight at 4 am in the morning so to keep him awake we all decided to stay up and make it a movie night 📺 . It was the“Bol Bachchan” time in the hotel room.

And finally, after seeing off Arkadeep at 3.30 am we all called it a day.

The next day (or we should say 5 hours later) we had lunch in the nearby Acropolis Mall and finally headed towards the Airport to leave for Guwahati. Please go to the Kolkata airport at least 2 hours prior to your flight. The waiting times are longer here.

Also, we stayed at Om Shanti International OYO which cost us around 400/day each for three rooms and 2 days for the five of us. We were happy to see their hospitability of letting us check in late at night and also letting one of us check out at around 3 am. It is not promotion rather gratefulness shown by us towards the hotel authorities.
